These
teachings were both spoken and practical. He was not limited to speech,
He taught by example. For example, in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus
summarised His doctrine, and when He came down from the mountain great
multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came to Him, and bowed
down before Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me
clean”. And He stretched out His hand and touch him, saying, “I am
willing, be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleaned.
(Matthew, Chap. 8:1). And consecutively, the Master acted, making His
words touch everyone’s hearts, not only for the ears to hear but also
for the eyes to see. So that everyone could understood Him better, He
expressed His teachings in the form of parables. For example, the
parable of the Sower through which we come to understand and learn as
His teachings explain how when fertile soil receives the seed it can
produces fruit abundantly. (Matthew, Chap. 13: 1-8) And again in the
parable of the ‘Unmerciful Servant’ and that of ‘The Good Samaritan’ we
gradually come to learn how to search for a more Spiritual Life. In
other words then, the mission of Spiritism is nothing more than the
elaboration and application of the Teachings as brought by Jesus.
